Beniz Spencer (Gulbeniz Arifqizi), President
A native of Fuzuli district of Karabagh, Beniz has graduated from Civil Engineering Institute in Baku, Azerbaijan in 1987 and had her early career as an Engineer at the Azerbaijani State Chief Project Institution until the outbreak of war changed her life in 1988.

During the bloody Karabakh events of 1988-1990 Beniz made herself known as an active participant of the movement in the name of Freedom protesting against the violations of territorial integrity of her motherland. More...


Natella Isazadeh, Vice President & VP of Media
A native of Qusar district of Azerbaijan, Natella is a professional journalist with a Bachelor’s of Art and Master’s of Art in International Journalism from Baku State University (1997) and Masters in Law from Moscow State Social University (1999).

During her career as a staff-writer with different Azerbaijani and International Media outlets (1994-99) including Ayna-Mirror weekly, she covered critical societal issues, fervently advocating Human Rights of the most vulnerable layers of population. More...


Farida Buyuran, VP of Public Relations & Membership
Born and raised in Baku, Farida is one of the youngest and contagiously enthusiastic members of our group. She joined AAWA with intention to contribute to its building and strengthening relations with other organizations in the United States, Azerbaijan and other countries.

With her Bachelors of Art in English Language and Master’s of Art in English Literature, both from Azerbaijan Institute of Languages, she is a born language person. More...
